Last month we introduced the concept of what we call “Earth Guides.” In brief, it was proposed that each one of us has the potential to become an Earth Guide if we will only agree to produce certain qualities in our lives, and then teach others to produce those same qualities.

Under the tutelage of our Spirit Guides as well as our Angels we are shown clearly that we are not only meant to be what the Bible refers to as “Stewards of the mysteries of God,” (1 Corinthians 4:1) but also that we are to fulfill a “Great Commission,” (Matthew 28:18-20) consisting of going out into the world and training others to be Stewards as well.  The process is a simple one - one of gently guiding others away from the superficialities of this world and onto a path of Spiritual behavior and attainment. 

In effect, this is what the Apostles of old did.  The original Greek word “Apostle” simply meant, “one who is sent” into the world to do all of the above.  Since that is, in effect, a simplified definition for the term “Earth Guide,” Earth Guides then become the modern day Apostles of Light and Love and Wisdom to this world.

In order to become an Earth Guide one must first become ”Enlightened.”  And this is not as difficult as contemporary opinions have made it out to be.  In our opening article on Earth Guides (in this month’s B-PI Journal), we defined “Enlightenment” as, turning on the light of Truth in your mind so that you can help to guide others into that same truth.  Enlightenment is not something one does for their own personal self-gratification or ego.  When one becomes enlightened one doesn’t just stop there and sit around in a lotus position all day feeling holy. 

Enlightenment comes when you “learn the Truth and the Truth makes you free.” (John 8:32)  And then you get up out of that lotus position and you become an active Apostle of Truth to your own sphere of existence.

What is meant by the phrase, “The Truth will make you free?”  Free from what? That’s the easy one.  The answer is: many things … ALL THINGS.  Free from the enslavement of cultural brainwashing, religious bias, learned attitudes and opinions, guilt, fear, politics, peer pressure, what you learn at the university, addictions … the list goes on.  Whatever it is that enslaves you – which is just about everything in the physical realm of existence – must be released and completely dissolved by Truth before one is truly “made free.”

But what about Truth?  What exactly is that?  The simplest definition for Truth is: “Realizing who you really are and are not.” 

You are not a clone of culture or society, as the media would have you be.  You are not a Democrat or a Republican or a Libertarian or an Independent or a Green Party member.  You are not even a conservative or a liberal.  You are not black, white, or brown.  You are not of any “race.”  You are not male or female or gay or straight.  You are not Catholic or Protestant or Jew.  You are not even the sum total of all those attitudes and opinions you have gathered up from others over the years.


You are here to learn specific lessons that were spelled out for you on the Other Side before you entered into these physical forms.  Many of our readers are familiar with the term  “Life Script.”  A Life Script is the basic plan of life that every Spirit Person designs for him or herself (along with the aid of Spirit Guides) before they enter into their incarnation as a human being.  This Life Script in no way takes away from the Free Will of an individual.  It highlights only those major events and milestones of a person’s life on Earth.  All the routes on how the person gets from one milestone to the next are determined by Free Will as well as trial and error.

You are also here to act as an Earth Guide in order to lead those who are slower to learn into the LIGHT OF TRUTH … which is, as has been discussed, personal enlightenment (or even salvation.)  An Earth Guide is a Spirit Guide on earth.

In this article, and the one to follow next month, we will list the principle duties and responsibilities of Earth Guides.  These are those things all of us are supposed to be doing while we reside in this physical realm of existence.  If we are not doing them, quite frankly, we are not truly enlightened.

Because of its familiarity, the Bible will be used as the scriptural basis for this article.


Let’s give this a contemporary slant so we can identify with what it is teaching between the lines.  Feed them what?  FEED THEM TRUTH.  This verse isn’t talking about carry-in dinners or fast food.  In most instances in the Bible (and in any other religious Scripture) the word food is a metaphor for any Higher Teaching necessary for the attainment of enlightenment. Compare this verse with Jeremiah 3:15, “I will give you Pastors (Shepherds or Guides) according to mine heart (Creative Mind) which will feed you with knowledge and understanding.”

Knowledge and Understanding are the first two steps toward gaining wisdom.  Wisdom is, in fact, the product of knowledge and understanding.  It is the application of the knowledge you have learned and what you have understood that knowledge to mean for your life. 

This is what we might term as “Preliminary Data.”  Because you cannot be entrusted with the deeper Mysteries of God if you don’t have true knowledge (not worldly knowledge) and if you don’t understand what that knowledge really means in the grander scheme of things.

Most people, when they receive knowledge simply swallow it hook, line, and sinker without question.  This is a serious problem in our world today.  As a society we no longer question what we read or what we see on TV.  We simply nod our heads in agreement and go our merry way.  We can be convinced of just about anything any more, to the point of defending even the most absurd things with our very lives.  If this attitude does not change dramatically in the very near future it, quite possibly, has the potential to destroy our comfortable way of life.

Earth Guides take the time to understand the heart of the knowledge that is presented to them regardless of the source.  They feel intensely their responsibility for revealing and sharing Truth … not propaganda.  There is no place in the vocabulary of an Earth Guide for opinion, attitude, compromise or agenda.  Political Correctness cannot be tolerated.  Only Truth is acceptable and Truth cannot be obtained from any biased source. It can only be received from within via the guidance from the Spirit of God, Spirit Guides, or Angels.  This process is achieved by way of our supernatural link to the Other Side, our Intuition and our “Four Clairs:” Clairvoyance, Clairaudience, Claircognizance, Clairsentience.  These represent four of the “Gifts” we have been given by God in order do discern truth in this physical plain – which is impossible to discern by using physical/mental alone. (Future articles will discuss the  “Four Clairs” in detail.)

We could go into a great deal of analysis with this verse.  There are probably many among our readers who shy away from terms such as Baptism and Commandment, but please remember that these words have deeper Metaphysical meanings as well as the common surface meanings you may have been taught.  At Bliss-Parsons Institute, as a result of intensive study of the Bible, we have found that it is an incredible book of power and enlightenment, and filled with Truth that can be easily understood when considered from a deeper Metaphysical perspective.  We have also found that since it is the principle Scripture common to most of Western culture that it will be more easily recognized as a source text for most of our readers and students.

There is no confusion as to the meaning of the word “Teach.”  Again, consider 1 Corinthians 4:1, which informs us that we are “Stewards (caretakers, handlers) of the Mysteries of God.”  The implication is that once we have attained Truth in knowledge, understanding and wisdom, we can then be trusted with handling and disseminating these supernatural Mysteries – Mysteries that would not be otherwise available to those who have not gone through the necessary steps to obtain them for themselves.

In John 15:15 Christ informs us that “ … all things that I have heard of my Father (ALL THINGS!) I will make known unto YOU.”

It is not our job as Earth Guides to teach the obvious, surface, physical teachings that most churches are satisfied teaching today.  As these verses imply, it is our job to teach the deeper Mysteries.  The hidden meanings that lie somewhere between the lines of the surface words.  And as Christ Himself taught in John 15, it is our responsibility to teach “ALL THINGS GOD KNOWS!”  That goes way beyond what you may have learned in Sunday school.

And the reason He is teaching us to teach these things to others is because we are living in a world that desperately needs to hear Truth, and the sad fact is that most religions are keeping that Truth from their adherents.  A second sad fact is that most people have no clue as to what their religion truly believes.  They are members of a denomination that they may have belonged to since childhood and they have been taught to accept at face value the very basic, tenets of an organized system of belief, while the deepest knowledge (that which can be life changing!) is never revealed to them.  The principle reason for this is that the pastors and teachers of those religions, themselves, do not understand.  Not because they don’t have the intelligence to do so, but because they don’t have the will power it takes to break away from a “system” in order to discover Truth on their own.

This is where the “Four Clairs” - and many other intuitive skills of a, perhaps, psychic nature come into play.  And these are abilities that have been labeled by many over the years (primarily due to religious bias) to be “of the devil,” “evil,” “satanic,” etc. etc. etc.  In fact, one must consider the strong likelihood that these abilities may in reality be wonderful, Gifts from God; given to mankind in order to bring healing and comfort His created children.

The fact is that nowhere in the Bible are these “Gifts” condemned by God.  There are some words and some phrases in the Bible that have been confused with these Gifts, but the way in which they are practiced today in no way resembles the descriptions found in the Bible.  The closest description of the Four Clairs in the Bible is found in the New Testament when Paul, himself, discusses such topics as the Gifts of the Spirit, Prophecy, Discerning of Spirits, etc.  In all of these instances these abilities are from God and they are meant to be used on a regular basis by all believers.  The words or phrases, Psychic, Clairvoyant, ESP, Remote Viewing, etc. are not even mentioned in the Bible.  The word, “Medium,” is mentioned in some newer translations (but not in the original manuscripts), but when read in context we find that it referred to a person who was using skills to tell fortunes for personal and/or evil gain/means.  The term “Psychic Medium” was never used in the Bible or during the time of Christ.  And certainly the way in which a credible, Psychic Medium practices today – i.e. John Edward, Doreen Virtue, Allison DuBois, Lisa Williams and a host of others -  is in no way related to any description found in the Bible.

As Earth Guides – modern day Apostles – it is our duty to provide comfort to any and all we come into contact with that need comfort. And we are to use the most efficient and effective way to do so.  One of the most important and most neglected forms of comfort should be given when we know of someone who has lost a Loved One.  Another comfort is given when someone you know may have a terminal illness or any problem of a serious nature, and this comfort can be gleaned from those who have first-hand experience with such things: Spirit Guides, Angels, and the like.  Psychic Mediums are adept at providing such services as these - in the absence of clergy and psychologists who may or may not believe in these abilities.  It is just nonsense to ignore using any and all loving means to help others deal with serious situations in their lives.  Not to do so would be cruel and cruelty is not from God.

The Bliss-Parsons Institute believes that it is only a matter of time before Psychic Mediums become as credible as psychologists, therapists, and counselors to our society.  Even more so due to the fact that their credibility does not come from books and theory, but from God and from those who are what can be termed our “Spiritual Support Team” on the Other Side (Spirit Guides, Angels, Passed Loved Ones.)

You cannot be an Earth Guide – that is, you can never Guide others into Truth if you, yourself, have omitted Truth from your own life.  And the Truth is that each and every one of us is precious in the sight of God.  Each and every one of us is here for a reason – much of that reason we designed for ourselves on the Other Side before we arrived in the physical form. And there is not time enough left to dwell on our faults and failings and to spend endless hours coddling ourselves while trying to build our “self-esteem.”

When faults and failings and self-esteem problems come into the mind of an Earth Guide, he/she defines the problem, quickly solves what is causing it, and moves on.  No one is immune from such things, but to dwell on them over extended periods of time is counter productive and leads to ill health.  If you have a problem, solve it.  If you have a question, answer it.  If you have a situation, deal with it.  Then get back to the task at hand: being an Earth Guide for others.  Training others to deal with their problems so the greater problem – that of our chaotic and miss-directed culture – can be more rapidly solved.

In order for an Earth Guide to be effective in this world three things must be nurtured on a daily basis:  a positive and loving attitude; a moderate, self-controlled diet and lifestyle; and a constant communication link with God.  If any one of these, or all of them are absent, you will be ineffective as an Earth Guide and you will never be able to accomplish what you were sent here to accomplish.  And it is crucial that each one of us does accomplish our part.  If not, the problems facing the world today (unrest, war, politics, disease, Spiritual ignorance) will grow much worse.

If we do our jobs we can be the catalyst for positive change in our world.  Don’t forget the so-called “Butterfly Effect” which used to be called the Snowball Effect.  Everything you do has a consequence for the good or the bad.  Everything “snowballs.”  Everything you do goes around the world and comes back to you in many ways.  So make every thing you do count for God.  Make every thought you think a loving thought.  Make every deed you do a deed of love and comfort.

And do all you can to guide everyone you meet back onto the path of their own Life Script.  That includes any of those who have forgotten their Script and who have “sold out” to society even (and especially) at the higher levels of our culture.  Just imagine what might happen if the leaders of every government were to be “enlightened” as to Truth.  Just imagine if all people everywhere were to awaken to their Higher Selves and discard their hatred and their racism and their immaturity.   What a wonderful, new world this would be.

That, my friend, is your assignment.  Make it happen.
